It might not ordinarily be considered the funnest game in the field of betting, but keno has millions of steadfast admirers. And so it should! It’s a constantly thrilling lottery-type game that’s a breeze to play, abundantly available in many different variations, and one that will yield mega-dollars for people who master its numerous subtle intricacies. When explaining keno to novices, some wagering experts compare it to bingo. This is at least in part apt, in that each game is basically numerical. Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the user is furnished with an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to determine as many (or as few) numbers as he thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your picked numbers with a normalmarker like you used when you were in third grade.

Now that you have checked your numbers, carry your keno card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t drop this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning slip with you, you will get precisely $.00 for your efforts.

And there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s advance to something a little bit more complex, yes?

Once you’ve checked off your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and see the action take place on the monitor. This is where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to take your time, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You must get back to the keno booth to get your winnings, since a new drawing will most likely begin within 5 minutes.

Strategy number 2: always be sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you do not trust yourself to beat that five-minute margin each and every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the maximum number of rounds (the same as the number of tickets) is played, you are then able to get off your lazy butt and go retrieve your winnings.

Yet another alternative is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which normally lets you make number picks for 30 keno rounds or more. Golly, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
