Keno’s History
Keno was created in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized keno as a way to finance his declining forces. The city of Cheung was at war, and after a bit of war time seemed to be looking at a country wide famine with the drastic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a rapid fix for the financial calamity and to create income for his forces. He thusly designed the game we know today as keno and it was a great success.
Keno used to be referred to as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from larger municipalities to the lesser villages. The lotto ‘Keno’ was imported to the USA in the 19th century by Chinese migrants who migrated to the States for jobs. In those times, Keno used 120 numbers.
Today, Keno is regularly enjoyed with 80 numbers in most of the US land based casinos as well as web casinos. Keno is commonly liked today as a consequence of the laid back nature of gambling the game and the basic fact that there are little skills needed to enjoy Keno. Despite the fact that the chances of winning are terrible, there is constantly the chance that you will win quite big with little gambling investment.
Keno is enjoyed with eighty numbers with twenty numbers drawn each game. Players of Keno can pick from 2 to 10 numbers and wager on them, as much or as little as they want to. The pay out of Keno is according to the bets made and the matching of numbers.
Keno grew in popularity in the US near the close of the 19th century when the Chinese letters were changed with more familiar, American numbers. Lottos were not covered under the laws of gaming in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos altered the name of the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the idea that the numbers are horses and you want your horses to place. When a law passed that taxed off track betting, the casinos swiftly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
