Keno Tactics That Win

It will not commonly be seen as the most fun game in the realm of gambling, but keno has huge amounts of fanatical admirers. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a consistently entertaining lottery-esque game that’s a snap to master, readily available in lots of different formats, and one that might pay out mega-dollars for gamblers who master its numerous subtle rules. But let’s begin with the beginner’s rules here.

When describing keno to newbies, some wagering masters compare it to lotto. This is at least in some measure correct, in that both games are generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far would be to discount the countless unique aspect that make keno so entertaining. Unlike bingo, keno players have the power to select the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is granted an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he or she needs. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your desired numbers with a normalmarker like you used when you were a kid.

After you’ve picked your numbers, take the game card back to the girl at the keno stand. The clerk will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and wants help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your time spent.

OK, so there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move on to something a bit more complex, ok?

Once you’ve marked your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and observe the action take place on a monitor. This is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you have winners, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and then a new drawing will almost certainly start within a few minutes.

Strategy number 2: always go back to the keno booth on time!

Since you can’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 tickets. When the max number of rounds (fitting the number of tickets) is played out, you will then be able to get off your lazy bum and go get your winnings.

Another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno card, which commonly lets you make number selection for 30 games or more. Gosh, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after purchase!

So now you have learned a number of essential techniques for winning keno. If you are an accomplished keno player, they may appear to be stupidly obvious. Still, it will not hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a new keno player, every little bit of information will help make your keno playing time more entertaining.
