It may not usually be deemed the most fun game in the world of betting, but keno has huge amounts of keen admirers. And why not? It’s a constantly entertaining lotto-style game that’s a snap to pickup, abundantly available in tons of different styles, and one that can return millions for people who learn its uncounted subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the basics for now.

When defining keno to newcomers, some gambling masters compare it to lotto. This is at least to a certain extent apt, in that each game is fundamentally numerical. But to carry that comparison too far might be to underrate the innumerable unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the ability to select the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is given an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to choose as many (or as few) numbers as she wants. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a normalpen like you had back in the day.

After you’ve picked your numbers, carry the card back to the person at the keno booth. The girl will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers you and would like to help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your efforts.

Now there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s get on to something a tiny bit more complicated, what do you think?

Once you’ve marked your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and see the action happen on the big keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers show up in lights. If you selected winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Make sure not to dilly dally, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, as a new keno game will most likely start up within a few minutes.

Strategy number two: always be sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to meet that five-minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the very same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to 20 slips. When the maximum amount of games (matching the number of tickets) is completed, you can then get off your lazy butt and go redeem your winnings.

Yet an additional opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which generally lets you make number choices for 30 rounds or more. Golly, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to fret about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you are aware of a couple of necessary techniques for winning keno. If you are an experienced gambler, they might appear to be stupidly obvious. However, it will not hurt to brush up on the fundamentals, and if you are a newbie user, every little bit of information will help make your keno playing more captivating.
