It will not often be thought of as the best game in the universe of wagering, but keno has tons of zealous supporters. And why not? It’s a consistently exciting lottery-ish game that’s simple to pickup, readily available in loads of assorted variations, and one that might yield millions of dollars for gamblers who master its innumerable subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the basic rules for now.

After you have marked your numbers, carry the game card back to the person at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not lose this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning ticket with you, you will collect precisely $.00 for your time spent.

So, there you have strategy numero uno: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move on to something a little more useful, ok?

Once you’ve marked your numbers, settle into a nice keno booth and see the action happen on a monitor. This is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you selected winners, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You are required to get up to the keno stand to collect your winnings, and then a new round of keno will probably start up within not too many minutes.

Strategy #2: always make it back to the keno booth on time!

Since you do not trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline every time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to twenty tickets. When the max amount of games (fitting the amount of tickets) is played, you can then get off your numb butt and go retrieve your winnings.

Another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number picks for thirty rounds or more. Hell, you can take vacation to France and not have to fret about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!
