Keno’s History
Keno was first played in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a finance resource for his declining army. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a war, and after a bit of time appeared to be facing national shortage of food with the excessive decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to come up with a rapid response for the financial adversity and to create revenue for his forces. He therefore created the game we know today as keno and it was a great success.
Keno was well-known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from bigger cities to the smaller towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was imported to the USA in the 19th century by Chinese newcomers who migrated to the United States for jobs. In those times, Keno used 120 numbers.
Today, Keno is regularly played with 80 numbers in almost all of American brick and mortar casinos along with net casinos. Keno is mainly enjoyed today as a result of the relaxed nature of wagering the game and the simple reality that there are no expertise needed to play Keno. Regardless of the fact that the chances of succeeding are appalling, there is always the chance that you might hit quite large with a tiny gaming investment.
Keno is played with 80 numbers and 20 numbers are selected each game. Gamblers of Keno can choose from two to ten numbers and wager on them, as much or as little as they want to. The pay out of Keno is dependent on the wagers made and the matching of numbers.
Keno grew in universal appeal in the United States near the close of the 1800’s when the Chinese letters were replaced with more familiar, US numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the legalization of wagering in the state of Nevada in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos adjusted the name of the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the notion that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to come in. When the Nevada government passed a law that levied a tax on off track wagering, casinos swiftly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
